Saw 5 brought some incredible revelations. And even if the disdainful critics spit on the movie franchise fans know better and the Saw movies are still performing quite well in theaters.
I'd even say that the Saw movies have become part of a tradition: hard to imagine Halloween with a Saw movie and Jigsaw's traps!
So, I'm quite glad that Lionsgate confirmed Saw 6. The movie Saw VI should be released on October 23, 2009.
A bit sad that Director David Hackl is handing over to Kevin Greutert (that's him on the pic). But I don't worry for the continuity of the Saw movie franchise because Kevin Greutert was editor on every Saw movie to date: so he isn't a newcomer, and will respect the previous Saw movies. Also Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, who wrote Saws 4 and 5, are working on the Saw 6 screenplay.
In Saw 6, Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) will still be taunting us beyond death. And his twisted disciple Mark Hoffman (Costas Mandylor) shall be there too. Both Tobin Bell and Costas Mandylor have indeed signed for the sixth opus of Saw.
No hint about the plot yet. But rumors are that the fate of Dr Gordon (Cary Elwes) from Saw 1 could be revealed in Saw VI.
What kind of trap would you like to see in the movie Saw 6 for Halloween 2009? Any idea?

ReplyDeleteWhat kind of trap indeed! I'd like to see something where failing to solve the trap would take slices of the body off, inches at a time, starting at the feet.
Think along the lines of the meat slicer in the deli department..

i think we should see something along the lines of the whole body being paraylized and only being able to use your mouth to get out of the trap,if you fail u lose one ear and then so on!!! by the way what happened to the good dr.gordon????
ReplyDeleteWhat about being strapped to a contraption that lowers you in a tank with pirahnas and as a result of delaying or not completing the task at hand lowers you in to the water as the pirahnas eat your flesh a lá flesh eating virus.
ReplyDeleteWhat should be done is a trap like the one on amanda in the First movie.a reverse Bear Trap. But not at the mouth. But at the Peak of the Skull. fail and it pulls the skull appard and the brain and other Facial organs Splat on the ground.
ReplyDeleteGorden Lawrence is another of saw apprentices, in saw 2 the cloaked 'jigsaw' is clearly hobbling after lawernce cut his foot off and jigsaw is an enginer not a surgorgoen so he would of never of been able to perform the 'key behind the eye' surgery and lawrence was a doctor.
